Tellason Denim

The Reinvented 14oz Fleece

In 2009, Tony Patella and Pete Searson, co-owners of Tellason Denim in San Francisco, launched their brand amidst the economic downturn with a focus on crafting high-quality, domestically milled raw selvedge denim. Their signature slim straight jean, made in the old Levi’s factory, quickly gained a cult following, sparking a global selvedge denim revolution. In 2013, they sought to recreate the iconic Champion Reverse Weave sweatshirt from the 1970s. Tasked with this challenge, I spent 10 months collaborating with a Southern California knitting factory to develop the heaviest fleece on the market, resulting in the hoodie and crewneck sweatshirt Tellason continues to sell today.
